Message

To those who love my Music Festival

I feel terribly sorry for the inconvenience caused to many people as my concert schedule has to be changed after the tickets have been sold out.

Earlier this year I had to rest a while for heart treatment.
Now that I have recovered, I resumed concerts while maintaining my health under the guidance of my doctor.

I saw my doctor last week and received advice that in order to continue my activities smoothly it is essential to take an adequate period of rest, which was longer than I anticipated, when I travel a long distance for performances.

I am also grateful for the deep understanding of the artists who will perform with me and the utmost efforts of the secretariat, which made it possible to avoid a cancellation and make arrangements for an alternative concert.

I sincerely apologize this last-minute change.

I appreciate your kind understanding, and I hope to see you in the concerts this year too.

Sincerely,

March 24, 2023

Apology

We sincerely apologize to those who purchased tickets for the “Best of Best Vol.8 Chamber Music Concert” to be held on May 23 due to the schedule change.

As mentioned in Ms. Martha Argerich’s message, she was treated for a heart problem earlier this year, but she recovered and has resumed her performance activities, and was preparing for her visit to Japan. However, when she saw her doctor, he advised her that it is essential to take a good rest before and after long flight trips in order to continue her performance activities stably.

Regarding the Music Festival, we have always been in contact with Ms. Argerich and have given special consideration to her health. However, according to her doctor’s advice, a longer rest period was required than expected, and it became difficult to hold the concert in Beppu as originally planned.

Ms. Argerich and we have seriously thought about how we can respond to the expectation of many people that we think the most important. As a result, we have decided to avoid a cancellation and to change the date of the concert.

In any case, we apologize again for the inconvenience caused to you.

We would like to express our sincere apologies and ask for your understanding from the bottom of our hearts.

Ito Kyoko
Vice-chairperson, Argerich Arts Foundation
General Producer, MUSIC FESTIVAL Argerich’s Meeting Point in Beppu
