The Salzburg Festival has honoured our foundation president, Martha Argerich with its Festival Pin with Rubies on 21 August.

The Salzburg Festival, held every summer in Salzburg, Austria—the birthplace of Mozart—boasts a history spanning over a century and stands as one of the world’s largest music festivals, bringing together top-tier orchestras, opera companies, conductors, and soloists from around the globe.

Argerich made her Salzburg Festival debut in 1971, appearing with the Czech Philharmonic under Claudio Abbado. Over the following five and a half decades, she has returned regularly to Salzburg, establishing a long association with the Festival.
