Sakaguchi Yu

Sakaguchi Yu was born in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, in 2001. He studied at Toho Gakuen “Music Class for Children, and then, Toho Gakuen Music High School. Currently Sakaguchi is a senior at Toho Gakuen School of Music. Since his Music Class days, he has performed graduation concerts and student concerts as a high achiever. Sakaguchi performed in a piano trio at “Hattori Mone´’s Chamber Music” at the Chamber Music Garden 2019 in Suntory Hall with violist Hattori Mone´ and cellist Okuizumi Takayoshi. He won Third Prize in the high school Tokyo division at the 72nd Student Music Concours of Japan, First Prize in the national division at the Toho Gakuen Junior Music Competition, First Prize at the 10th Toho Piano Competition, and First Prize at the 91st Music Competition of Japan. Sakaguchi has studied under Shimizu Misako and now is studying under Kooryeong Park.
He won scholarship from the Aoyama Music Foundation in FY 2021 and FY 2022. He has been a scholarship student of the Moritani Scholarship Foundation since FY 2021.
