Nakamura Junji

Nakamura Junji is from Kyoto City, Japan. He learned the violin from an early age and started playing the flute at the age of 13. After completing Takatsuki High School, Nakamura graduated from Kyoto City University of Arts in 2009 with a major in wind and percussion. Upon graduation, he received the Music Department Award and the Kyoto Music Association Award. After serving as principal piccolo player in the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, Nakamura is currently a flute and piccolo player in the NHK Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his activities in the orchestra, he also focuses on solo activities in both the flute and piccolo, and on teaching younger generations. Nakamura won the 15th Matsukata Hall Music Award.
