Kosuge Yu made recital debuts at Carnegie Hall in 2005 and at the Salzburg Music Festival in 2006. She performed with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra under the baton of Alexander Dmitriev, Charles Dutoit, and Ozawa Seiji. In 2010 Kosuge gave a performance substituting for Ivo Pogorelich at the Salzburg Festival. Since then, she has continued performing actively worldwide. Kosuge won the 64th Cultural and Education Ministry’s New Artist of the Year Award in 2014 and the 48th Suntory Music Award in 2017. She has made numerous recordings, including “Fujikura Dai: Piano Concerto ‘Impulse’ & WHIM/Ravel: Piano Concerto in G major” (winning the 77th Agency for Cultural Affairs National Arts Festival Excellence Award). Kosuge held the recital series “Four Elements” focusing on “water, fire, air and earth” for four years from 2017, which gained her the highest of praise. She also promotes Beethoven MO-DE, a new project to perform all of Beethoven’s pieces involving piano. In 2023, Kosuge started a new project “Sonata Series” focusing on piano sonatas.
She is a resident artist of “Shiiki presents Argerich’s Haus.”
