Kosuke Kato

Kosuke Kato was born in Tokyo in 2006. He began playing the piano at the age of five. Kato won First Prize in the piano division of the 94th Music Competition of Japan as well as the Iwatani Prize (audience prize), Nomura Prize, Iguchi Prize, Kawai Prize, Miyake Prize, Argerich Arts Foundation Prize and INPEX Prize.
He took first place in the elementary school division of the 72nd Student Music Concours of Japan National Competition, and the 49th PTNA Piano Competition Superior Grade Bronze Prize.
Kato has performed with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, and others. He studied the piano under Yuko Umemura, Takashi Saiki, Satsuki Kobayashi, and Hiroe Arai. Kato is a recipient of the Ezaki Scholarship in 2023 and 2024, and the 11th Yasuko Fukuda Scholarship. He studied at Toho Gakuen Music High School and is currently a first-year scholarship student at the Music Department in Toho Gakuen School of Music.
