Shimizu Takashi

Shimizu Takashi started the violin at the age of six with Tokunaga Shigeru and then with Sumi Saburo at the age of nine. He performed with the NHK Symphony Orchestra at the age of ten. Shimizu started studying with J. Heifetz at the age of seventeen. He won the grand prix at the competition for winners of international competitions in France. Then, Shimizu went to Britain to study chamber music with Yfrah Neaman. He was introduced to Yehudi Menuhin and Nathan Milstein, and studied with them. Shimizu gave a debut concert in London under the baton of Menuhin. Since then, he has received many invitations to hold concerts.
This season, Shimizu has been invited to perform in Austria, Poland, Romania, Moldova, and Spain. In Japan, he will give a concert with Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and participate in three music festivals including the Beppu Argerich’s Music Festival.
