Takeda Rikono

Takeda Rikono won First Prize in the 93rd Music Competition of Japan and five special prizes including Iwatani Prize (audience prize) and the Argerich Arts Foundation Prize. She won the diplomas of the 17th and 18th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, and First Prize in the 10th Young Chopin Musicians Competition Konin (in Poland). Takeda has won many prizes in competitions in Japan and abroad including First Prize in the elementary and high school divisions of the Student Music Concours of Japan. She started her performance activities with her first recital at the age of 12 sponsored by the Ishikawa Prefecture Music Culture Promotion Corporation. Takeda has also made numerous television and radio appearances. She graduated at the top of her class from the Chopin University of Music in Poland. Takeda also completed the master’s course at the Kyoto City University of Arts Graduate School at the top of her class, receiving the Mayor’s Award from the Graduate School.
