Mari Endo won both First Prize and the Tokunaga Prize at the 72nd Annual Japan Music Competition in 2003, the Third prize at the Prague Spring International Music Competition in 2006 (without First prize winner) and the 2nd prize at the Enrico Mainardi competition in 2008. Among the conductors she has worked with are Ken-ichiro Kobayashi, Kazuki Yamada, Jean-Pierre Wallez. Her performances with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and Prague Symphony Orchestra expanded the range of her activities. She was appointed Solo Cello of the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra. Endo have released 7 CDs from Avex-classics.
In addition to performing for television and film, Endo is active in a wide range of fields, including serving as a personality for the nationwide NHK-FM radio program “Kira-Kura!” for eight years starting in 2012.
She received the Hideo Saito Memorial Fund Award in 2009.
