Endo Mari graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music at the top of her class. She won both First Prize and the Tokunaga Prize at the 72nd Annual Japan Music Competition in 2003, the Third prize at the Prague Spring International Music Competition in 2007 (without First prize winner) and the 2nd prize at the Enrico Mainardi competition in 2008. She also received Hideo Saito memorial fund award in 2009. Endo was appointed Solo Cello of the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra.
She studied with Clemens Hagen at Salzburg’s Mozarteum University from 2006, and completed the master course getting a unanimous top mark in 2007. Endo has also received instruction from Hiroshi Usui, Fumiaki Kono, Nobuko Yamazaki, and Ryoichi Fujimori.
Apart from recitals and chamber music concerts throughout Japan, Endo has been invited to perform with such orchestras as Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic, Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa, Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra, Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, Yamagata Symphony Orchestra and so on. Among the conductors she has worked with are Ken-ichiro Kobayashi, Michiyoshi Inoue, Kazuki Yamada, Gerhart Bosse, Jean-Pierre Wallez, and Ludovic Morlot .
Her performances with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and Prague Symphony Orchestra in 2009/2010 season expanded the range of her activities
